Multiple positions are available for dedicated special education teachers to work onsite in a dynamic environment focused on both life skills/transition (CBT) and structured intensive support (STRIVE) classrooms. Your role will directly impact students across a range of inclusion and self-contained settings, helping them develop core academic, social, and self-regulation skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Active, standard Arizona Secondary Teaching License
- Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
- Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Experience with students who have emotional disabilities and/or a variety of eligibility needs, including those struggling with prosocial and self-regulatory skills
- Proficiency in implementing individualized education plans while adhering to federal, state, and district mandates
- Familiarity with student populations including at-risk, ethnically diverse, limited English proficient, and exceptional learners
- Previous work in life skills/transition and/or structured intensive support classrooms preferred
- Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or willingness to participate in professional development
- Must reside within a 30-minute commute of specified Phoenix-area schools and be onsite daily
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage caseloads across various classroom models (Inclusion, SUCCESS, Practical, CBT-Life Skills, STRIVE)
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction to support functional academics and behavioral goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a classroom environment that emphasizes structure, predictability, and individualized supports
- Maintain compliance with all documentation and service requirements
- Participate in CIE training (July 21-24) and return to work for the academic year on July 27
