Key Details:
- Location: El Segundo, CA
- Discipline: Special Education (SPED)
- Commitment: Part-time (5 hours per week)
- Caseload: In-home tutoring for one 9th-grade student, across two residences in El Segundo
- Schedule: Exact session times are flexible, to be arranged collaboratively to best suit the provider’s and student’s availability.
- Duration: 2026/2027 school year (placement pending)
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active California Mild/Moderate credential is required
- Background in Special Education, ideally with experience supporting students in home or individualized environments
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet student-specific learning styles and needs
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with families and ensuring progress
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one academic instruction to foster the growth and achievement of a 9th-grade student
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and IEPlan-driven approaches
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
- Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers to align on goals and adjustments
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the learner to best support their engagement and independence
