Job Description:
An excellent opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in Athens, Alabama. This full-time role will support 2nd through 5th grade students with a full range of disabilities. The position will focus on resource services and case management, with opportunities for both onsite and virtual support. Candidates should be comfortable providing specialized instruction, managing IEPs, and collaborating with school staff to support student success.
Qualifications:
- Active Alabama Special Education Teacher license (K–5)
- Experience working with elementary students in special education settings
- Experience supporting students with autism preferred
- Strong IEP case management and documentation skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to provide effective instruction in an onsite or virtual setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and resource support for elementary students
- Support students across 2nd–5th grade based on assignment
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Manage special education case management responsibilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate special education documentation
