Special Education Teacher - Goshen, Alabama

Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with students with significant cognitive impairments
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP development

- Effective communication, organization, and leadership abilities
- Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom atmosphere
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction for a caseload of 12 K-12 students, adapting curriculum to address diverse cognitive needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring goals are met and progress is documented
- Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom culture, using evidence-based strategies tailored to individual strengths and challenges
- Coordinate and collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers to support comprehensive student development
- Communicate regularly with families, providing updates on progress and supporting parent engagement
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in special education
