Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction, support, and interventions to a student with cognitive impairments within a classroom environment tailored for special education.
- Manage and implement behavioral and mental health strategies as part of a comprehensive support plan.
- Collaborate closely with a full team of specialists, including therapists, counselors, and other educational professionals.
- Develop lesson plans that address both academic and social-emotional needs, ensuring progress toward IEP goals.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and collaborate with families to encourage ongoing development and participation.
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to the dynamic needs of the student.
Qualifications:
- Valid and current Cognitive Impairment (CI) teaching certification is required.
- Experience or familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) best practices is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working in special education and/or with elementary-aged students.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-based attitude.
- Ability to work onsite, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 2:45 pm.
