Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education Teacher License with Multi-categorical or equivalent certifications required
- Experience in moderate to multi-categorical settings, including both self-contained and co-taught resource environments
- Passion for fostering inclusive education and individual student growth
- Flexibility to work across elementary, middle, high school, and preschool classrooms (preferred age group to be indicated upon application)
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Ability to provide a blinded resume and copies of relevant certifications
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging special education instruction in assigned settings—elementary (moderate, co-taught), middle (multi-cat self-contained, co-taught resource), high school (co-taught), and preschool (schedule TBD)
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, administrators, and families
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and IEP implementation
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, supportive educational environment
- Uphold professional and ethical standards in all interactions
Additional Details:
- Contract runs 07.27.2026 - 05.28.2027
- 35-37.5 hours per week, with one part-time middle school co-taught position (18-20 hours/week)
- Onsite attendance preferred; virtual/VOCO options may be considered closer to school start
