Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred)
- Previous instructional experience with special needs students
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to adapt curriculum to diverse learning needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Empathetic, patient, and organized approach
- Commitment to inclusive and equitable practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Design engaging lesson plans and tailored instructional activities
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to meet IEP goals
- Adapt and modify curriculum and assessment for each learner
- Collaborate with general educators, support staff, families, and specialists
- Track student progress and provide regular updates
- Foster a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment
- Advocate for students’ unique needs and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
