The student is currently experiencing school refusal, and the role focuses on gradually reintroducing educational engagement—beginning with 8 hours per week and increasing as the student becomes more comfortable and confident.
Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will be valued in this supportive environment. You’ll play a central role in encouraging growth while adapting to the student’s evolving needs, without the additional responsibility of case management.
Ideal Qualifications and Experience
- Professional certification/licensure as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience supporting students with Autism, especially those working through school avoidance/refusal
- Skill in building trust and providing individualized instruction
- Ability to design creative, adaptive lesson plans based on student preferences and progress
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
