Special Education Teacher | Hamden, Connecticut

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education (Sped 112 or 165) certification required
- Experience supporting preschool-age children, preferably in an integrated or inclusive setting
- Strong ability to conduct assessments, manage cases, and participate in PPT meetings
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Genuine passion for fostering early childhood development in varied learners
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction in an integrated classroom with both special education and typical peers
- Manage individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide case management for assigned students
- Conduct assessments to monitor progress and adjust support strategies as needed
- Participate actively in PPT (Planning and Placement Team) meetings
- Collaborate with families, fellow teachers, and other support staff to ensure optimal student outcomes
