Two full-time contract opportunities are available, both working closely with third to fifth-grade students in specialized settings at highly regarded schools near Hartford, CT. Each role is designed to provide consistency, encouragement, and expertise to students who benefit from individualized social, emotional, behavioral, or functional support.
Position Highlights:
- Full-time, in-person roles (40 hours per week; 8:20 am – 3:40 pm)
- Serve 3rd–5th grade students in: • Social Emotional Behavioral Classroom (Now–October, with possible extension) • Functional Skills Classroom (December–early March, with possible extension)
- Develop, modify, and deliver individualized instruction and behavior plans
- Build rapport with students, using patience and empathy to manage classroom dynamics
- Collaborate with families, related service providers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Foster an inclusive environment where every child can thrive
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher certification (required)
- Recent classroom experience with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong skills in differentiated instruction, classroom management, and behavioral supports
- Collaborative approach and excellent written/verbal communication
- Flexibility and commitment to support a diverse student population, consistently in person
