What We’re Seeking:
- Special Education certification for the state of Louisiana, or a valid Louisiana teaching certificate with willingness to pursue SPED certification
- Experience working in a special education setting, ideally with children with autism (preferred, but motivated new graduates will be considered)
- Strong classroom management techniques and collaborative mindset
- Ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and classroom support to students with special needs in a moderate classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans and behavioral strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Participate in professional development and ongoing training as required
