This position involves working 2.5 hours weekly with a medically fragile, bed-bound middle school student. The district seeks a committed Special Education Teacher who can build strong rapport and offer consistent support—ideally, someone bilingual in Spanish and English, though non-bilingual professionals are also welcome for consideration.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification/Licensure as a Special Education Teacher
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred (non-bilingual applicants also encouraged)
- Experience working with medically fragile and/or bed-bound children ideal
- Ability to provide steady, long-term support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to a middle school student in a home-based setting
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including SLPs, OTs, and PTs
- Create and implement tailored educational plans
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet unique student needs
- Foster positive relationships with the student and non-English speaking family
