Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students with diverse needs in a dynamic and collaborative educational setting. As a special education teacher, you’ll work full-time, Monday through Friday (7:15 am to 3:15 pm), during the 2026-2027 school year. The position spans August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027, and encompasses both middle and high school roles in a contract setting.
Your primary focus will be on individualized instruction for students ranging from mild to moderate needs. Caseloads include one middle school intensive needs classroom (approximately 12 students), two self-contained high school classrooms, and an inclusion high school teacher role with an ELS caseload (35-40 students—background in English preferred, not required). There is also an assignment supporting five students in grades 6–8 at a neighboring STEM school conveniently located within the same building.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience teaching students with varying academic, behavioral, and learning needs in a resource or self-contained classroom
- Strong classroom management and positive behavior support skills
- Ability to create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP)
- Team player with proven collaboration skills for working alongside general education staff and support personnel
- Comfortable adapting curriculum and instruction to better serve each student’s unique strengths
- Dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and high-expectation learning community
