Key Qualifications:
- Current Delaware Special Education Teaching License (PDF copy and resume required for consideration)
- Experience or strong interest in working with elementary students, particularly those with autism
- Ability to develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, families, and support staff
- Commitment to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Willingness to complete required $85 criminal background check and fingerprinting, with agreement confirmed before submission
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to elementary-aged students with autism, tailoring strategies to individual needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and administrative staff to foster student achievement
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress, adjusting interventions and supports as needed
- Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth
- Attend meetings, complete reporting requirements, and participate in ongoing professional development
