Required Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching license in EBD, ASD, or ABS (or eligibility for Out of Field Licensure Placement).
- Proven experience working with at-risk student populations in a school setting.
- Expertise in behavior support, intervention, and individualized education planning.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to create positive outcomes for students.
- Strong communication, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instruction plans for students with diverse needs across grades 9–12.
- Employ effective behavior management and support strategies to foster a safe, supportive classroom environment.
- Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff to ensure comprehensive student care.
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, providing detailed assessment, progress reporting, and documentation.
- Manage a caseload of students, adapting instructional strategies and supports as needs evolve.
- Engage proactively with families and guardians to encourage student progress and school engagement.
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.
This contract position follows a Monday–Friday schedule, aligning with standard school hours of 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, and features a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
