Make an impact supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher with a focus on behavior support. This contract opportunity is designed for professionals dedicated to providing inclusive education and managing meaningful behavioral interventions for students aged 11 to 14. You’ll serve as a Case Manager, working closely with a manageable caseload at a single school site and collaborating with colleagues and families to help each student grow and thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Multicategorical or Emotional Disabilities (ED)
- Proven experience working with students in special education, particularly those needing behavior support
- Deep understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Strong communication skills for parent, staff, and administrative collaboration
- Effective classroom management strategies tailored to middle school students
- Passion for fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 5–10 students, ages 11–14, delivering direct instruction and behavioral support
- Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to implement best practices
- Provide behavior intervention plans and strategies when appropriate
- Maintain regular communication with families, ensuring they are integrated into the educational process
- Serve as liaison for special education services and participate in school meetings and trainings
- Uphold all documentation, compliance, and reporting for the duration of the contract
Position Highlights:
- Full-time, contract position (37.5 hours/week; Monday–Friday)
- Start as soon as possible, extending through May 2027 (or until notified otherwise)
