Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Texas Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working in an elementary setting, preferably with self-contained caseloads
- Strong skills in individualized instruction and classroom management
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to diverse student needs
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility, patience, and a collaborative spirit
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with a variety of learning differences in a self-contained elementary classroom
- Develop and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with families and staff
- Assess and document student progress, adapting methods as needed for optimal growth
- Work closely with other educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive program
- Create a safe, supportive, and motivating environment that promotes student confidence and success
