What we’re looking for:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience or strong interest in working with students with autism and multiple disabilities
- Training or familiarity with evidence-based practices for students on the autism spectrum
- Ability to manage a classroom with varied learning needs (around 6 students with autism and 8 students with other disabilities)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educational staff and families
- Commitment to developing individualized education plans and implementing them effectively
Core responsibilities:
- Provide instruction, classroom management, and programming for students mainly with autism as well as other multiple disabilities
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet each learner’s unique goals and needs
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general educators
- Maintain clear documentation regarding student progress and IEP implementation
- Facilitate a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom experience
- Engage in regular communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
This full-time schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 3:00pm and Friday from 8:30am to 1:00pm, ensuring a work-life balance while making a genuine difference every day.
