Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners in a nurturing and collaborative environment near Joliet, IL. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, from 7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m., with flexibility for alternative schedules to accommodate unique needs. Starting as soon as possible and extending through October 31, 2026, this position focuses on a small caseload of three kindergarten and two first-grade students in a self-contained setting.

As part of this highly supportive team, you’ll work alongside two instructional-level and three resource-level special education teaching partners, three multi-needs teaching partners, and have robust paraeducator support. Ample instructional materials and resources are at your fingertips, empowering you to create an engaging and productive classroom experience. Please note, all work is conducted onsite; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher credentials for the state of Illinois
  • Experience with early elementary and/or self-contained instructional settings
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with fellow educators, students, and families
  • Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and interventions for a small group of kindergarten and first-grade students
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Provide direct classroom support and adapt lessons to meet student needs
  • Maintain organized documentation and planning for student progress
  • Engage cooperatively with colleagues, support staff, and families to promote student success
