Position Overview

The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role involves developing and implementing educational plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and creating an inclusive learning environment that promotes student achievement and independence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education
• Active Missouri Special Education Teaching Certificate
• Ability to obtain and maintain required district clearances
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Previous school-based experience preferred

Job Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal regulations
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities
• Foster student growth in academic, social, behavioral, and functional skills
