Position Overview
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated ESOL/ELL Teacher to support elementary students in a K-5 setting in Raytown, Missouri. This position will provide specialized English language instruction to a diverse group of students with varying levels of academic English proficiency.
The program currently serves just over 30 students across grades K-5, with students demonstrating a wide range of English language development needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping multilingual learners build confidence, academic language skills, and access to the general education curriculum.
Details
- Serve approximately 30+ English language learners across grades K-5
- Provide small-group ESOL/ELL instruction, typically with at least one group per grade level
- Provide direct student services 4 days per week
- Use Wednesdays for program management, collaboration, and classroom teacher coaching
- Monitor and support students across a broad range of English proficiency levels
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support English language development within the general education setting
- Help teachers implement effective strategies for multilingual learners
- Track student progress and contribute to instructional planning
- Support students as they work toward increased academic English proficiency and independence
- Collaborate with school staff and related service providers when students have additional educational needs
Student Population
Students are assessed annually using the WIDA ACCESS assessment, which measures English language proficiency on a 1-6 scale. Students in the program may demonstrate a wide range of proficiency levels, from beginning English development through more advanced academic English.
Some students may also qualify for special education services, providing opportunities for collaboration with special education staff and classroom teams.
Qualifications
- Missouri K-12 ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) or ELL (English Language Learners) certification/licensure
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Experience supporting multilingual learners/English language learners preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction for students with varying levels of English proficiency
