Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for high school grades
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in reading instruction
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and educators
- Flexibility, resourcefulness, and a student-centered mindset
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted reading instruction and support to students in special education programs
- Manage a low caseload, allowing for focused, individualized attention and intervention
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and instructional techniques
- Develop, monitor, and report on IEP goals aligned with student progress
- Maintain documentation of student performance and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of educational service
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and confidence
