What we’re seeking:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with students exhibiting severe behavioral challenges
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training highly preferred
- Strong collaboration skills to work with classroom staff, specialists, and families
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education and behavior plans
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations
Key responsibilities include:
- Instructing and managing a classroom of four students with severe behavioral needs, grades 1-3
- Applying de-escalation and positive behavior intervention techniques
- Developing lesson plans and delivering tailored instruction based on each student's IEP
- Documenting student progress, behaviors, and interventions
- Collaborating with support staff and administration to ensure a cohesive educational approach
- Engaging with parents and guardians to support continuity of strategies at home and school
