In this role, you'll work with a diverse group of up to 18 energetic four-year-olds, including both children with IEPs and their typically developing peers. Supported by two dedicated paraprofessionals, you'll create an inclusive environment where every child can thrive. The classroom operates on EST, offering consistency and structure. Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Early childhood or PreK experience required, particularly with inclusion classrooms
- Background in developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals, families, and specialists
- Commitment to fostering a nurturing, differentiated, and inclusive learning environment
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Responsibilities:
- Lead a PreK inclusion class with a mix of students, creating lesson plans tailored to diverse needs
- Work closely with paraprofessionals to deliver effective instruction and classroom support
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Collaborate with service providers, families, and administration to meet students’ educational needs
- Implement positive behavior supports and adaptive teaching strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate records
