Special Education Teacher - Lake Zurich, Illinois
Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their growth and educational journey in a full-time special education contract role near Lake Zurich, IL. This in-person position runs from August 17, 2026, through May 27, 2027, and is ideal for educators passionate about providing individualized support and fostering a positive learning environment.
There are two possible assignments available:
- Life Skills Self-Contained classroom
- Instructional/Resource classroom

Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and active Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois (submit a current copy with your application)
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting preferred
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and IEP development
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to student success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with families and school professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring for each student
- Create a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities as needed
This full-time, in-person opportunity averages approximately 33.25 hours each week. You’ll play an integral and rewarding role within the school community, helping students reach their highest potential.
