This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students and collaborate with dedicated colleagues. The assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 7, 2027, and is located at a single site near Cuyahoga Falls, OH, ensuring a focused and consistent experience.
There are two available classroom settings:
- One MD (Multiple Disabilities) classroom, serving 9-12 students with needs including autism, non-verbal communication, physical impairments, and more.
- One ED (Emotional Disabilities) classroom, supporting 10-15 students with BIPs, social-emotional learning, and requiring crisis intervention strategies.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid Special Education Teacher licensure
- Experience or strong interest in working in MD and/or ED settings
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs, behavior intervention plans, and differentiated instruction
- Comfortable supporting students with a range of needs, including those who are non-verbal or require physical accommodations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Teach and support a classroom of students with varied needs, fostering an inclusive, positive environment
- Develop, monitor, and adapt IEPs for all classroom students
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Effectively implement crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records and communication with families and staff
