Requirements and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Proven experience working with high school students, especially in dropout recovery or alternative education settings
- Strong understanding of IEPs, progress monitoring, and individualized instruction
- Collaborative attitude for working with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and community resources
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs and academic levels
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that support academic achievement and personal development
- Track student progress, conduct assessments, and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff to modify curriculum and support inclusion
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
- Provide encouragement and mentorship to students, helping them build confidence and work toward graduation
