Special Education Teacher | Lancaster, South Carolina

This position involves working at elementary, middle, high school, and PreK levels with highly collaborative special education teams in both moderate needs and self-contained/resource settings. Schedules range from 35 to 37.5 hours per week, with assignments tailored to candidate expertise and preference.
Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education Teacher License
- Required endorsements in Multi-Categorical, EC, or applicable specialization
- Experience teaching in resource, co-taught, moderate, or self-contained special education classrooms
- Ability to adjust strategies to support various academic and behavioral needs
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and implementing IEPs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction and individualized interventions for students with varying exceptionalities
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods in moderate, resource, co-taught, or self-contained environments based on student IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and family members to foster student growth
- Participate in IEP meetings, provide input on goals, and monitor progress
- Uphold compliance with district, state, and federal special education standards
- Maintain well-organized classroom environments that promote learning and student safety
