Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Current and valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience teaching high school students, particularly in Life Skills or functional academics programs
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication and collaborative abilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Instruct, assess, and support students in the Essential Life Skills program onsite
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals collaboratively with families and school teams
- Modify curriculum based on individual learning strengths and needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture
- Maintain thorough records of student progress and required documentation
- Partner with support staff, therapists, and administrators to enhance student outcomes
