Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for Maine
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Education, or related field
- Previous experience working in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Positive, flexible attitude and dedication to supporting student growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instructional strategies for students with special needs
- Develop and update IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to address different learning styles
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Maintain detailed records and comply with special education laws and regulations
- Work effectively with parents, guardians, and external professionals to support student success
- Foster an inclusive, welcoming classroom environment
