Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state licensure or certification in Special Education
- Previous experience teaching special education, preferably at the elementary level
- Strong ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Comfort with high-needs populations and experience managing small classroom environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptable, patient, and compassionate approach to teaching
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to meet students’ academic and social goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment that fosters learning and confidence
- Assess student progress and modify instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Document student performance and maintain accurate records
