This assignment runs from mid-October through mid-January, offering structured hours and meaningful engagement.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid and active Special Education Educator Certificate
- Proven experience in special education, especially with high-functioning life skills students
- Ability to work closely with teaching assistants and contribute to a positive classroom culture
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, staff, and families
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to meeting students’ individual learning needs
What your days will look like:
- Teach and support a caseload of approximately 8 students in a high-functioning life skills program
- Collaborate daily with three dedicated teaching assistants
- Deliver individualized instruction and develop lesson plans aligned with student needs and IEP goals
- Track student progress and communicate updates to families and school teams
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
- Maintain organization to support seamless classroom routines from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday to Friday (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
