Special Education Teacher | Lincoln, Rhode Island

This full-time contract role runs from October 16, 2026, to January 15, 2027. You will work Monday through Friday from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) in a supportive classroom setting with approximately eight students and three teaching assistants.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active Rhode Island Special Education Teacher Certification required
- Prior experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred
- Well-developed classroom management and differentiation strategies
- Commitment to collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Ability to create engaging, individualized lesson plans tailored to diverse needs
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction to a small group of students with varying abilities
- Work closely with teaching assistants to support individualized student goals
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instruction as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and clear communication with team members and families
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages growth
