Elementary Special Education Teacher | Livonia, Michigan

Multiple opportunities are available for certified Special Education Teachers to work full-time with elementary students in specialized ASD and therapeutic classroom environments. Both classrooms offer a truly supportive atmosphere, with three paraprofessionals dedicated to each class and robust resources from Speech, OT, PT, and Social Work professionals.
Special Education Teachers in the ASD program will enjoy focusing on student engagement and growth without the need for toileting or lifting. Meanwhile, those in the therapeutic setting will work closely with a small group of students, sharing strategies and celebrating progress in a team-driven, nurturing space. No matter which setting you prefer, you’ll find strong collaboration and respect for your expertise.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification
- Experience with elementary-aged students
- For ASD classroom: Direct experience working with students on the autism spectrum is strongly preferred
- For therapeutic setting: Background supporting behavioral or therapeutic populations is a plus
- A commitment to fostering inclusive, empowering learning environments
In these roles, you’ll be responsible for:
- Delivering tailored instruction aligned to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborating closely with paraprofessionals and related service providers
- Promoting skill-building and social-emotional development
- Tracking and reporting student progress with care
