Special Education Teacher - Woodford, VA

What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
- Deliver direct, evidence-based instruction aligned with both state standards and individualized goals.
- Utilize strategies specifically designed for students on the Autism Spectrum, including PBIS and behavior intervention plans.
- Collaborate closely with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, school psychologists, and other service providers to meet the varied needs of your students.
- Supervise and guide paraprofessionals within the classroom.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain data to track student progress and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Foster student growth in communication, social interaction, self-regulation, and independence.
- Provide a classroom environment that is safe, structured, and engaging for diverse learners.
Qualifications We Seek:
- Current Virginia Special Education Teaching License or eligibility to obtain one.
- Proven experience developing and implementing IEPs.
- Familiarity with special education documentation and compliance practices.
- Strong skills in classroom management and behavioral intervention.
- Ability to collaborate positively with multi-disciplinary teams and families.
Preferred Experience:
- Direct work with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly in self-contained settings.
- Knowledge of ABA methods, visual schedules, structured teaching, social stories, and alternative communication systems is a plus.
- Background in supporting students with significant cognitive or behavioral needs.
- Crisis prevention or de-escalation training is desirable.
