Special Education Teacher in Longmont, CO

Positions are available in three specialized programs, allowing you to tailor your expertise and nurture students’ individual growth:
Lower Rising Stars: Guide elementary-aged students (5–10 years old) needing foundational support in academics, behavior, and social skills. Provide highly structured routines for learners with autism, developmental delays, behavioral, or learning disabilities as they begin building vital skills.
Upper Rising Stars: Work with students aged 9–14 (upper elementary/middle school) honing their academic knowledge while fostering emotional regulation, peer interaction, and independence—serving those with autism, emotional/behavioral needs, and learning disabilities ready to take on new challenges.
Jump Start Program: Mentor high school and transition-age students (14–22), focusing on job readiness, life skills, and career training. Prepare learners with autism, intellectual, and learning disabilities for successful, independent adult lives.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience with autism, emotional/behavioral disabilities, or learning disabilities
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse needs and provide structured, supportive environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for supporting students’ growth and independence
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver targeted instruction in academics, behavior, and life skills
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Track student progress and adapt strategies as needed
This contract role runs from now through May 29th, working full-time hours (7:45am – 3:15pm, Monday–Friday). Interviews are available ASAP, 9am–4pm MST.
