Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Active educator license (current and in good standing)
- Experience working in elementary, middle, or high school settings
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs
- Commitment to promoting a supportive, inclusive classroom culture
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role in a school setting
Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Create a classroom environment that fosters respect, safety, and engagement for all students
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and update IEPs
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and communication
- Support and advocate for student needs within the school community
