Qualifications & Skills:
- Current and valid Special Education teaching license in Louisiana (LA SPED license required)
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including ages 3-5 and elementary grades
- Comfortable supporting various classroom structures (inclusion, self-contained, resource rooms)
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, particularly in virtual and in-person environments
- Adaptability and a positive approach to addressing the unique needs of each child
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction tailored to the needs of special education students in grades 2-6 and early childhood classrooms
- Work closely with other educators, para-professionals, and support staff
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages students’ confidence and independence
- Participate in virtual interviews and collaborate virtually as needed
