Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher strongly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Familiarity with a range of learning disabilities and behavioral challenges
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning styles
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement instructional plans tailored to students’ individual learning goals
- Develop, review, and update IEPs in partnership with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Assess students’ abilities and progress, maintaining clear and accurate documentation
- Work closely with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom culture
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as required
