Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity impacting the educational journey of a 3rd grade student in a homebound setting. This role is dedicated to providing crucial special education support and tailored instruction within a one-on-one environment, fostering both academic growth and personal development for a student with life skills needs. The assignment is onsite and offers coverage for both the Extended School Year (with end date to be determined) as well as the full 2026-2027 academic calendar, beginning August 12, 2026 through May 22, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for the state
- Demonstrated experience delivering specialized instruction to students with diverse needs
- Familiarity with homebound or life skills curriculum is advantageous
- Adaptability to individualized education plan goals and flexible learning contexts
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop rapport with students and families
- Organized, reliable, and committed to effective communication with educational teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 6 hours per week of homebound services (4 hours instructional, 2 hours compensatory) starting the week of August 17th
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans in alignment with the student's IEP
- Track progress, maintain documentation, and collaborate with school district partners
- Support the life skills student’s academic, behavioral, and social development
- Remain onsite for all sessions and adhere to scheduled hours for consistent support
