Special Education Teacher - Mahomet, IL
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting K-8th grade neurodiverse students as a Special Education Teacher. This opportunity is suited for professionals with an LBS1 endorsement and Early Childhood certification, ready to engage fully during a 40-hour workweek. The role begins with professional development August 13th–17th, followed by the start of the academic year on August 18th, setting you up for a successful and well-prepared transition into the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 credential with Early Childhood certification required
- Experience serving K-8th grade students, especially those who are neurodiverse
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education
- Ability to adapt instructional materials and strategies to diverse learning styles
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to the needs of neurodiverse learners
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitor progress
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
- Create a positive, engaging classroom atmosphere focused on growth and inclusion
