As the primary special education teacher, you’ll manage a caseload of approximately 15 students, ensuring each learner receives personalized instruction tailored to their needs. With your support, these students will grow, thrive, and achieve their goals throughout the academic year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education, or eligibility for certification
- Previous experience teaching elementary school special education preferred
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and case management
- Ability to adapt learning materials to meet diverse student needs
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage IEPs for students in grades 2 and 5
- Provide direct instruction, differentiated to individual abilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive classroom
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Attend IEP meetings and participate in ongoing professional development
