This opportunity is for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work onsite within an elementary school, serving a caseload of approximately nine students. The assignment covers the 2026-2027 school year, and you'll be working full-time, Monday through Friday, following a consistent school schedule with 37.5 hours per week.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4 required)
- Experience or familiarity with students who have Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD)
- Capacity for individualized lesson planning and differentiated instruction
- Commitment to building supportive relationships with students and families
- Strong collaborative skills to work alongside school staff, specialists, and families
- Effective communication and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to elementary students with DCD, focusing on their unique learning needs and strengths
- Develop, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure inclusivity and appropriate support
- Engage with families to foster strong partnerships and support student growth
- Maintain thorough records and data on student progress and interventions
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment promoting independence and learning
