Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience working with middle school students, preferably within a self-contained or specialized setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver dynamic instruction to students in a self-contained classroom setting, supporting a variety of learning styles and needs
- Develop, monitor, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Foster a structured, nurturing environment that promotes student independence and academic growth
- Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and share updates with families and faculty
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators to create inclusive educational experiences
- Manage classroom behavior through positive supports and consistent routines
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school activities
