Special Education Teacher - Methuen, MA
Make a meaningful impact as a special education expert working with a dedicated early elementary caseload in a well-established ABA program designed for students with autism. This full-time contract opportunity provides the chance to collaborate with a supportive team from now through June 2027 in a structured, caring environment.
Working Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:00 PM, you’ll lead instruction for a group of approximately 11 kindergarten through second-grade students, and have the consistent support of three paraprofessionals. Your background in ABA and hands-on experience navigating the IEP process will allow you to develop and implement individualized strategies that foster growth and achievement for each student.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teaching Certification
- Prior experience delivering ABA interventions in a school setting
- Proven expertise in managing and contributing to the IEP process
- Comfort in leading and guiding paraprofessionals
- Passion for early childhood education and supporting students with autism
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and behavioral support within an ABA framework
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to maximize student engagement and success
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in close partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Track student progress, collect data, and adjust strategies based on ongoing assessment
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom culture
