Key Qualifications:
- Valid Florida ESE certification, plus K–6 or PK–3 general education certification
- Prior experience leading a self-contained special education classroom
- Ability to manage and tailor lessons for students with a range of learning levels and exceptionalities
- Must complete or verify active school-based fingerprints via AHCA Clearinghouse; additional documentation may be required for clearance
- Willingness to participate in a virtual prescreen interview to confirm eligibility and suitability for the position
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement engaging, individualized lesson plans in a self-contained ESE classroom
- Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and independence
- Analyze student performance to guide instructional decisions and modify strategies as needed
- Work closely with families, school staff, and specialists to advocate for students’ educational needs
- Maintain accurate records for IEPs, progress reports, and compliance requirements
This contract role runs from early August through late May and offers the satisfaction of working at a single location within a supportive and resource-rich district. Assignments will primarily involve elementary students, though other preferences can be discussed.
