Special Education Teacher in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a dedicated, self-contained ESE classroom in the greater Jacksonville area. This contract role begins August 3, 2026, and runs through May 28, 2027, providing a full school year’s opportunity to inspire growth in elementary-aged students with diverse exceptionalities. Enjoy consistency, working 35 hours per week at a single campus (final location to be confirmed, with options to try to accommodate grade level preferences).
This position is fully on-site and focuses on enriching the academic and personal development of students at varying learning levels in a supportive environment. You’ll collaborate with colleagues, utilize individualized instructional strategies, and advance your teaching career while deeply connecting with your students.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- An active Florida ESE certification
- K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification
- Documented experience leading a self-contained classroom
- A commitment to inclusive, differentiated instruction
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering tailored lessons to accommodate a variety of exceptionalities and learning paces
- Managing classroom behavior and cultivating a positive, structured environment
- Collaborating with support staff, therapists, and families
- Maintaining accurate documentation and complying with all district requirements
- Completing regular progress monitoring and participating in IEP meetings
Credentialing is time-sensitive: Candidates must complete fingerprinting verification (via AHCA Clearinghouse or new prints as needed) and obtain a JLA badge prior to the start date. Virtual prescreen interviews will be scheduled for qualified applicants to ensure the right fit for this vital role.
