Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, active Massachusetts Special Education teaching license
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience working with middle school students, preferably in an 8th-grade setting
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Dedication to fostering an engaging, supportive classroom for students with diverse learning needs
- Passion for developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and support 8th-grade students with a range of special education needs
- Develop, implement, and regularly update IEPs to ensure alignment with student goals
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate various learning styles
- Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and relevant trainings
