In this in-person role, you’ll serve as an Exceptional Children (EC) teacher with a unique split between a middle and high school, focusing on inclusion and resource services. Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid North Carolina Teaching License with certification for Middle or High School
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher within a school setting
- Proficiency in inclusion/resource instructional strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, teachers, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, growth-oriented classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s needs
- Support students in both inclusion and resource settings to promote positive academic and behavioral outcomes
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff for integrated lesson planning
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
- Engage with families to communicate student progress and advocate for effective supports
- Encourage student independence and self-advocacy
