Special Education Teacher | Minneapolis, Minnesota

Step into an impactful opportunity as a Special Education professional for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, contract position focuses on supporting students in a Setting 3 classroom environment and will allow you to shape educational experiences for learners with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Working within one building, you’ll collaborate closely with a dedicated team to make a meaningful difference each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Endorsement in either ASD or DCD
- Previous experience teaching students with developmental and/or cognitive disabilities, preferred
- Strong classroom management skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach
- Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
What You’ll Do:
- Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of approximately 6-10 students in a Setting 3 classroom
- Develop and modify curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Conduct assessments and adapt lessons based on student progress
- Maintain clear documentation and support compliance with all state/federal special education regulations
- Engage families in the educational process, offering support and resources as needed
